Conditions CBR Podiatry Treats
Improving and maintaining good foot and lower limb health and functionality can have significant roll-on effects on the rest of your body and well-being, and podiatry can play a pivotal role.
Our podiatrist will assess, diagnose and treat a comprehensive range of foot, ankle and lower leg conditions. CBR Podiatry’s goal is to improve your lower limb mobility, comfort, and overall functionality and our scope ranges from childhood development to sporting injuries to chronic health conditions.
Some conditions we regularly treat include:
Heel pain is a common and debilitating condition caused by many different conditions that can greatly impact your daily routine. Our principal podiatrist is experienced in treating heel pain and diagnosing the underlying cause.
Are you suffering from heel pain? It may be caused by plantar fasciitis (also known as plantar fasciopathy). This condition involves damage to the thick band of tissue that connects the heel to the toes and can occur for a number of reasons such as overuse and injury. We offer tailored treatment plans for this common foot ailment.
Bunions are protrusions that develop at the base of the big toe joint and are often accompanied by discomfort and difficulty wearing shoes. They can lead to a variety of issues, such as reduced mobility and irritated skin. Arthritis may develop in the joint and cause further issues. We help treat and manage pain and inflammation and provide footwear advice.
Characterised by pain and irritation of the Achilles tendon, this condition commonly occurs due to factors such as overuse, repetitive stress, and sudden increases in physical activity. We offer a customised treatment plan for this painful problem and support you through rehabilitation.
An ingrown toenail can be a painful condition. The side or edge of the nail, usually on the big toe, begins to grow into the skin. This can lead to pain, swelling, difficulties wearing shoes, and potentially infection. We will assess your condition and recommend the best treatment plan, such as nail trimming to minor surgery. This is performed by our experienced podiatrist at our O’Connor clinic.
Orthotics can make a significant difference to the way you move, to your body’s alignment, and your overall functionality and comfort. We provide an extensive array of orthotics to cater to your specific foot care needs and lifestyle, including custom-moulded, heat-moulded, and off-the-shelf prefabricated orthotics. We even provide orthotic options for high heels and fashion shoes.
Shin Splints
A broad term that is associated with pain and inflammation along the shinbone, shin splints can be an uncomfortable ailment that impacts your daily life. We offer biomechanical assessments, which allow us to assess your movements and mobility and develop a suitable program for improvement and prevention.
Flat Feet
Flat feet are caused by excessive foot pronation or hypermobility, rather than low arches, which is a common misconception. This may lead to discomfort, instability, or injuries, and can affect other areas around the body due to misalignment. We will examine how your feet and legs move through biomechanical assessments and develop a plan to support your feet.
Posture or Alignment Issues
If joints or muscles in the lower limbs are not aligned properly, your whole body can be affected. We provide a thorough biomechanics assessment to address your specific posture and alignment concerns and your overall musculoskeletal health. We will develop a focused plan to target your unique requirements.
Are skin and nail issues causing you discomfort or embarrassment? We diagnose and treat a range of conditions such as corns, cracked heels, fungal infections, hard skin and athlete’s foot. We also provide general skin and nail care to help you maintain good foot health.
There are numerous treatments available for verrucae, also known as warts or plantar warts. At CBR Podiatry, we evaluate your foot health and identify the type of wart before selecting a suitable treatment.
We offer assessment, diagnosis and treatment for kids aged 5 years and up. We cover a variety of podiatry concerns experienced by children, such as toe walking, leg pain and injuries. Our principal podiatrist, Nick, is a member of Australian Paediatric Podiatry and looks forward to helping your whole family.
If you have been diagnosed with diabetes, it is vital that your foot health is monitored regularly by an experienced professional. During a diabetes review, we will discuss your concerns, goals and current diabetes management strategies and perform several assessments. We will then send a report to your GP. Our podiatrist will also advise you on how to care for your feet to minimise the risks of serious complications in the future.
A heel spur is a bony outgrowth that develops on the heel bone. It can cause pain and discomfort, especially when walking or running. We offer biomechanical assessment appointments to evaluate the severity of your condition and provide you with a personalised treatment plan.
Video gait analysis is a scientific method of observing how you walk or run. It allows us to understand how your unique movements are impacting various areas of your body and your overall health and functionality. This useful tool can help determine the cause of pain and injury and assist in improving your performance. CBR Podiatry provides gait analysis as part of our biomechanical assessment process. We identify restrictions and weaknesses and provide you with a tailored management plan.
CBR Podiatry is a proud podiatry and foot care service provider to NDIS participants (self and plan-managed). We can give you an initial consultation and assessment, develop a podiatry care plan that aligns with your healthcare goals, and offer regular reassessments during your care plan.
