Kids’ feet

Children can experience a variety of different kinds of problems related to their feet and legs. It is especially recommended that a podiatrist assess a child if you have noticed any of the following:

  • Difficulty keeping up with other children in the same age group
  • Frequent tripping or falling
  • Foot or leg pain
  • Difficulty fitting or finding suitable shoes
  • Uneven shoe wear
  • Excessive flexibility (hypermobility)

Conditions that CBR Podiatry can help with, include the following:

  • Wart (also known as verrucae or plantar warts)
  • Growing pains if tightness strength or laxity is an issue (pains in the legs at night should always be taken seriously as it may be a sign of a more serious medical condition)
  • Symptomatic flat feet

  • Sever’s disease (a type of heel pain)

If you have any concerns relating to your child’s feet or legs or if you just want some friendly advice on footwear and exercise, come in and see us. At the appointment, our podiatrist will put your child at ease and carry out a thorough paediatric assessment (including footwear and gait analysis). We investigate the cause/s of any problems and work on a solution that will work for your child in the long term. The results and a management plan will be discussed with you. We keep GPs up to date with our findings by providing a written report.
