Common Conditions CBR Podiatry Treats
Taking care of your foot and lower limb health and function can significantly impact your entire body and well-being, with podiatry playing an essential role in these outcomes.
Our podiatrist will evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide variety of foot, ankle, and lower leg conditions. At CBR Podiatry, we aim to enhance your mobility, comfort, and overall lower limb function, addressing everything from childhood growth issues to sports injuries to chronic health problems.
We commonly treat a variety of conditions, such as:
Heel pain is a widespread and debilitating issue, stemming from numerous conditions, which can disrupt your daily activities. Our principal podiatrist is well-versed in identifying and treating the underlying cause.
Is heel pain troubling you? It could be due to plantar fasciitis, or plantar fasciopathy, where the thick band of tissue between the heel and toes is damaged. Overuse, injury, and other causes are often involved. We create customised treatment plans for this common foot issue.
Bunions are hard protrusions at the base of the big toe joint, typically causing discomfort and shoe difficulties. They can result in limited mobility and skin irritation. Arthritis may also develop in the joint, worsening the condition. We assist in treating pain, managing inflammation, and offering footwear advice.
Pain and irritation of the Achilles tendon are typically caused by factors like overuse, repeated stress, and rapid increases in physical activity. We tailor a treatment plan to address this issue and offer ongoing support during rehabilitation.
An ingrown toenail can be very painful, where the side or corner of the nail, often on the big toe, grows into the skin. This can result in swelling, pain, trouble wearing shoes, and infection. Our experienced podiatrist will evaluate the condition and offer the best treatment, including nail trimming or minor surgery, all at our local clinic.
Orthotics can greatly improve your movement, body alignment, and overall comfort. We offer a wide range of orthotics tailored to your individual foot care needs and lifestyle, including custom-moulded, heat-moulded, and off-the-shelf orthotics. We also offer orthotic solutions for high heels and fashionable footwear.
Shin Splints
Shin splints, characterised by pain and inflammation along the shinbone, can be a troublesome condition that disrupts your day-to-day routine. Our biomechanical assessments help us evaluate your movement and mobility, enabling us to design a customised program for improvement and prevention.
Flat Feet
Flat feet are often due to excessive foot pronation or hypermobility, not necessarily low arches, which is a common misunderstanding. This condition can cause discomfort, instability, or even injuries, potentially impacting other areas of the body through misalignment. We offer biomechanical assessments to evaluate your foot and leg movements and create a plan to provide the right support.
Posture or Alignment Issues
Misalignment of the joints or muscles in the lower limbs can affect your whole body. Our biomechanics assessments thoroughly evaluate your posture, alignment, and musculoskeletal health. We will then create a targeted plan to address your specific needs.
Are you dealing with skin or nail problems that cause discomfort or embarrassment? We treat a variety of conditions, including corns, cracked heels, fungal infections, hard skin, and athlete’s foot. Additionally, we offer general skin and nail care to support your foot health.
Verrucae, also known as warts or plantar warts, have several treatment options. At CBR Podiatry, we first assess your foot health and pinpoint the wart type to select the most suitable treatment.
We provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for children aged 5 and older. We handle a range of podiatry issues in kids, including toe walking, leg pain, and injuries. Our principal podiatrist, Nick, is a member of Australian Paediatric Podiatry and is eager to assist your family.
If you have been diagnosed with diabetes, it is vital that your foot health is monitored regularly by an experienced professional. During a diabetes review, we will discuss your concerns, goals and current diabetes management strategies and perform several assessments. We will then send a report to your GP. Our podiatrist will also advise you on how to care for your feet to minimise the risks of serious complications in the future.
A heel spur is a bony outgrowth that develops on the heel bone. It can cause pain and discomfort, especially when walking or running. We offer biomechanical assessment appointments to evaluate the severity of your condition and provide you with a personalised treatment plan.
Video gait analysis is a scientific technique used to observe how you walk or run, providing insights into how your movements impact your body and overall health. This valuable tool helps identify the cause of pain and injury, while also improving performance. At CBR Podiatry, gait analysis is part of our biomechanical assessments, allowing us to detect restrictions and weaknesses, and create a tailored management plan.
CBR Podiatry is a proud podiatry and foot care service provider to NDIS participants (self and plan-managed). We can give you an initial consultation and assessment, develop a podiatry care plan that aligns with your healthcare goals, and offer regular reassessments during your care plan.
